Walk and Talk
How Walk and Talk began
Walk & Talk was never one of our planned activities, like many of our activities It was suggested by one of our Compassionate Conversations participants who discovered how powerful it was to simply talk with others who understood. He asked, "Could we keep meeting by going for a walk together?" We said yes.
About Walk and Talk
-
After the loss of a loved one, many people find themselves not only grieving but also losing companionship, routine and confidence. They often miss the simple opportunity to talk with someone who understands, while the thought of joining a formal support group can feel overwhelming.
-
To reduce loneliness, encourage conversation, improve physical and emotional wellbeing, build lasting friendships and provide continued support for people learning to navigate life after loss.
-
Anyone who has experienced bereavement or significant loss and would benefit from gentle exercise, supportive conversation and being part of a caring community. It is particularly valuable for those who have completed Compassionate Conversations and would like ongoing friendship and support.
-
Participants develop new friendships, feel less isolated and gain confidence as they continue their grief journey alongside others who understand. Gentle exercise, fresh air and meaningful conversation contribute to improved emotional wellbeing, while many discover renewed hope, purpose and a lasting sense of belonging.
