Volunteer
Can you help make a difference?
Our bible verse for Befriended quotes, “we will encourage one another”, we believe that volunteering with Befriended is a win-win situation. Befriending an older person is proven to make a lasting and positive difference in their lives. Our experience, knowledge and the feedback from our current Befriended volunteers is, that it also benefits those who are volunteering.

Mary Cox
Our Scone-Making Superstar
Mary Cox is one of Befriended’s wonderful volunteers and a familiar, friendly face at all our tea parties.
For every event, Mary bakes more than 100 delicious homemade scones. She also works alongside Ruth to prepare hundreds of sandwiches, helping to create the generous afternoon teas that our guests enjoy so much.
Mary’s kindness, energy and dedication are extraordinary. The time and care she gives help make every tea party feel special, bringing people together for friendship, laughter and a warm welcome.
“I love being part of Befriended and seeing the joy it brings to so many people.”
Mary, you are amazing—and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do!
