Outings &
Special Events
Wonderful days out,
without the worry
Befriended Bus Trips provide an occasion to really look forward to. We aim to make it as inclusive as possible by providing transportation, normally a picnic and even subsidised tickets.
We’ve had day trips to the theatres in Chichester and Eastbourne, as well as visited more local productions at Hurst College, Burgess Hill School for Girls, and Brighton College Prep at Handcross. It is wonderful to be able to provide a day out for so many who otherwise would not leave Burgess Hill or surrounding villages.
About Outings & Events
-
For many people experiencing loneliness or reduced mobility, opportunities to get out and enjoy activities can become limited.
Barriers such as confidence, cost, transport, or not having someone to go with can prevent people from attending events or visiting places they would otherwise enjoy.
Over time, this can lead to isolation and a loss of connection with the wider community.
-
Reduce isolation by creating shared experiences
Support people to access activities outside the home
Build confidence in going out and trying new things
Encourage social connection and friendship
Promote enjoyment, wellbeing, and a sense of adventure
-
These outings are for people who:
Would like to get out more but need support or encouragement
Enjoy cultural, social, or outdoor experiences
May not have someone to go with
Want to try something new in a safe and supportive group
-
Organised group outings
