At Befriended, we understand that life can sometimes bring unexpected challenges. Whether a regular carer is unavailable, extra help is needed after an illness, or someone simply requires short-term practical support, Befriended Back Up is here to help.
Delivered by Penny Herbert, a highly experienced and trusted care professional, Befriended Back Up provides compassionate, flexible support to people in our community when they need it most. Penny brings years of experience, a caring approach, and the reassurance of knowing that help is available quickly in times of need.
Support can include:
Laundry and light household tasks
Housework and practical help around the home
Personal care support
Meal preparation
Shopping and errands
What makes Befriended Back Up different is the combination of professional support and genuine kindness. As one family member shared:

The service is available at £20 per hour payable to Penny, with a contribution from each booking helping to support the wider work of Befriended and our mission to reduce loneliness and isolation in the community.
