Activity Days
Making sure no one feels alone during the summer
During the summer when a lot of activities take a break, we try to provide different events and opportunities to get people together. One of the greatest successes from last year was our two day Holiday at home.
We start the day with exercises, enjoy quizzes, garden games, singing, competitions, puzzles and chatting. Lunch, snacks, drinks and ice-creams are all provided and everyone is reluctant to leave.
About Holidays at Home
-
During holiday periods, many community groups and regular activities pause — including some of Befriended’s own sessions.
For people who rely on these connections, this sudden gap can be significant. Without something to look forward to, individuals can quickly feel isolated again, and the progress they’ve made in building confidence and connection can be lost.
These periods can be particularly difficult, with loneliness often intensifying when routines disappear.
